WHY LAKE ALMANOR?
Some of you may be wondering why we've chosen this place to get married. It's certainly not the most convenient place to travel to, and it doesn't play host to any fancy hotels or restaurants. But quite simply, this place is special.
Ben and I decided early on in our engagement that we wanted to celebrate our marriage in a place that held meaning for us. For me, Lake Almanor has always been a place of importance. I grew up visiting the Lake every summer and have countless memories with my brothers, cousins, and the rest of my family of the time spent in our Grandparents' cabin. As a kid, I loved going to the lake because I knew it had jet skis, board games, and frosties. As an adult, I love going to the lake because it brings our now grown-up and scattered family together again... and....there are jet skis, board games, and frosties.
I took Ben to the lake for the first time after we got engaged. It didn't take long for us to start dreaming about bringing our own family back here one day. Our hope is that we are not only choosing Lake Almanor as the place to begin this next chapter of our lives together, but also that we are planting this sacred memory in a place that will continue to be a part of several chapters to come.
We are so excited to share this special place and special weekend with so many of our close family and friends. We recognize that it’s a bit of a trek to join us, so we’ve included some information below to help plan the best trip.

July is a very busy month for Lake Almanor. we highly encourage all of our guests to secure their travel plans/ lodging accommodations as soon as possible. We’ve highlighted a few of our suggestions below but please feel free to reach out if you need any additional help. We want to do our best to make sure everyone who would like to join us is able to!
Best Western Rose Quartz Inn
- Located in the small town of Chester
- About 15 minute drive to the ceremony location and a 10 minute drive to the reception location
- This place has a great cancellation policy, so if you would like to ensure you have a place to stay, you can book a room here for the weekend and then cancel later on if you are able to secure a cabin
- We are currently working on a hotel block. We will post more information on the website once that is confirmed.
Bidwell House Bed & Breakfast

Limited number of rooms available – rooms are blocked under “Wallace/Mayberry Wedding”
CABIN RENTALS
- There are lots of great cabins in Lake Almanor that can accommodate families or groups of friends. We encourage you to check out VRBO or AirBnb for rental options. When searching for particular areas you can either search for “Lake Almanor West” (closest to reception spot) OR “Lake Almanor Peninsula” (closest to church and Wallace Family Cabin).
- Another option is to work with brokers who can help locate a rental home. Both of the women below are aware of our wedding weekend and have offered to help our guests.

- Please note that several cabins are not available to be booked until January 2016, at which point the rentals will go quickly. Please plan to make your reservations far in advance of the wedding date to ensure you have a great place to stay.
